Ishaq Dar Meets Abu Dhabi Finance Chief on PTCL, Investment

Dubai: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met with the Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Department of Finance on the sidelines of his visit to Dubai, where both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in investment, trade, and the telecom sector.

During the meeting, the two sides reviewed opportunities to increase UAE investment in Pakistan, with a particular focus on the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and its future growth.

Discussions also covered longstanding issues related to PTCL’s operations, with both sides agreeing to resolve pending matters at the earliest. The meeting included consultations on Etisalat’s existing investment and expansion plans in Pakistan, and ways to further strengthen its stake in PTCL.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to deepening bilateral economic ties and accelerating cooperation in key sectors.

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar emphasised the need for the early resolution of outstanding issues, stating that Pakistan remains fully committed to promoting foreign investment and expanding economic cooperation with the United Arab Emirates.
