Ishaq Dar Sees Hope in US-Iran Talks

Ishaq Dar said that recent talks between the United States and Iran in Islamabad were detailed and constructive, with both sides showing a willingness to engage. He stressed that maintaining the ceasefire remains critical for stability in the region.

Speaking at a press briefing, Ishaq Dar expressed hope that the dialogue would lead to lasting peace and economic stability. He noted that both countries responded positively to the invitation made by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to sit together and resolve differences.

Ishaq Dar appreciated the participation of both delegations and thanked them for engaging in serious discussions. He said Pakistan played its role as a facilitator and will continue to support the process in the coming days.

The talks brought together senior leadership from both sides. The US delegation was led by Vice President JD Vance, while Iran was represented by Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf. Several rounds of discussions took place, covering key issues affecting regional peace.

Ishaq Dar also shared that he, along with senior officials including Field Marshal Asim Munir, remained actively involved in facilitating the negotiations. He said Pakistan is committed to helping both sides move forward with a positive and practical approach.
