Islamabad (News Desk): A court in the federal capital has ordered the arrest and production of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi after his continued failure to appear in court proceedings.
The case against the KP chief minister involves allegations of making misleading statements against state institutions and damaging their credibility. Due to repeated non-appearance, the court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants against him.
Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah presided over the hearing and directed law enforcement authorities to arrest Suhail Afridi and present him before the court. The hearing has been adjourned until January 17.
According to court records, the case has been registered by the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
