Islamabad police withdraw security from Imran Khan’s residence

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have withdrawn the security from the PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s residence in  Bani Gala, saying that as the former prime minister is not present at Bani Gala residence, therefore, the policemen could not be deployed there.

Meanwhile, the PTI has strongly reacted to the Islamabad police’s decision, saying that Rana Sanaullah would be responsible, if anything happened to  Imran Khan.

In a statement, the Islamabad police said that Imran Khan has not been living in Bani Gala for the last few months, which is private residence of the former prime minister. The Islamabad police added that police personnel of Islamabad and other province could not be deployed at Bani Gala during the absence of Imran Khan. Led by DSP, at least 177 police personnel including 50 from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were performing security duty at Bani Gala.

Meanwhile, the Punjab Home Department has also written a letter to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to withdraw the province’s police from the former prime minister’s home in Lahore’s Zaman Town. In the letter to the KP government, the department mentioned that the 50 security personnel — who were called to Lahore on November 10 last year — could be called once again to Khan’s residence if need be.

Meanwhile, the PTI leader Shibli Faraz has strongly reacted to withdrawal of the security of Imran Khan and said that the present government was responsible for the security of Imran Kkhan. He said that Imran Khan is facing life threat, adding that if something happened to Imran Kha, Rana Sanaullah would be responsible.
