The interim government in Islamabad has asserted the release of 290 detained Baloch protesters, citing court orders and negotiations facilitated by an interim committee.
The Interior Ministry emphasized the right to peaceful protest while underscoring the importance of upholding the law.
Led by the Baloch Yakjehti Council, the protesters from Balochistan arrived in the federal capital, alleging police mistreatment of women and children, a claim refuted by the police.
Islamabad police reported the release of 250 Baloch protesters over three days, with 163 individuals released on Sunday.
Ensuring the security of the Red Zone, housing constitutional institutions and a diplomatic enclave, remained a priority, as highlighted by the Interior Ministry.
The conclusion of the Islamabad police’s special assistance center was also noted.
The resolution unfolded following negotiations led by federal ministers Murtaza Solangi, Fawad Hassan Fawad, and Jamal Shah with Baloch protestors.
Senior Superintendent of Police Abdul Haq Imrani was appointed as the focal person in this regard.
