Islamabad United have appointed former New Zealand international Luke Ronchi as their new head coach for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11.
Ronchi will replace former head coach Mike Hesson and take charge of the franchise ahead of the new season. The former wicketkeeper-batter has previously represented Islamabad United as a player and remains one of the most popular foreign cricketers in the league’s history.

Islamabad United owner Ali Naqvi welcomed Ronchi’s appointment, saying:
“Luke Ronchi has always been, and will always remain, a part of Islamabad United. Once a Sheru, always a Sheru. We are delighted that he was available this season. He understands the team’s culture and standards, and his return as head coach is a source of great pride for us.”
Speaking on his appointment, Luke Ronchi said Islamabad United has always felt like home to him.
“The fans and the entire ISLU family share a very special bond with me. Returning as head coach is a huge honor, and I am excited to develop new leaders and match-winners for this great team,” he said.
