LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami is set to organize a Gaza March in Lahore this Sunday, demonstrating solidarity with the Palestinian people. The march will commence from the Punjab University campus bridge, anticipating a significant turnout of party supporters.
Leading the rally will be JI chief Siraj-ul-Haq, with other prominent party leaders delivering speeches. Haq, speaking in anticipation of the march, emphasized its historical significance, aiming to reassure the people of Palestine that they are not alone in their struggle.
He expressed the march’s intent to convey a message to the ‘cowardly’ ruling class, urging practical steps to support Palestine. Despite Haq’s expectations of a potential easing of Israel’s siege on Gaza following the Organization of Islamic Countries summit, he noted that military actions had instead intensified.
Haq lamented the silence from the Islamic world, stating that it had transformed into a ‘graveyard,’ highlighting the urgent need for collective action from the ummah.
