UN Security Council Debate on Rule of Law
United Nations: Pakistan has firmly stated that Jammu and Kashmir has never been a part of India and will never be, responding to remarks made by the Indian representative during a debate at the United Nations Security Council on the rule of law.
Speaking at the UNSC, Pakistan’s First Secretary Zulfiqar Ali rejected what he described as baseless and misleading allegations made by India against Pakistan. He said that such accusations are a longstanding tactic by India aimed at diverting international attention from its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.
Zulfiqar Ali stressed that Jammu and Kashmir remains a disputed territory under UN Security Council resolutions, and its final status has yet to be determined. He reminded the Council that India itself brought the Kashmir issue to the United Nations, acknowledging its disputed nature.
He further stated that India continues to refuse compliance with its international obligations, and is persistently violating international law and UN Security Council resolutions. Such actions, he said, amount to a serious disrespect for the authority and credibility of the Security Council, which should be condemned in the strongest possible terms.
Pakistan reiterated its call for the implementation of UN resolutions and a just and lasting solution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the will of the Kashmiri people.
