Lahore: Muhammad Javed Butt, the brother-in-law of Khawaja Tareef, also known as Tiffi Butt—the main accused in the Ameer Balaj Tipu murder case—was shot dead in the Ichhra area on Monday.
The attack occurred near the FC College underpass as Javed Butt was returning home with his family after picking up his grandchildren from school. Four assailants on two motorcycles opened fire indiscriminately on his vehicle. Javed Butt was killed on the spot, while his wife, Samina Javed, sustained injuries from two bullets. Fortunately, Javed Butt’s daughter, who was also in the car, escaped unharmed.
SP Model Town Ikhlaq Ullah Tarar confirmed that Javed Butt was struck by five bullets, and his wife was hit twice. The gunmen reportedly followed the car from Ichhra and fled towards FC College after the attack. Rescue teams and police promptly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to a nearby hospital.
The incident is linked to an ongoing feud stemming from the murder of Ameer Balaj Tipu, who was shot dead at a wedding by Muzaffar Hussain, a close associate of Tiffi Butt. In retaliation, Tipu’s guards killed Hussain on the spot. Recently, Ahsan Shah, a friend of Tipu who allegedly assisted in the murder, was also killed, further escalating the ongoing violence.
