Journalist Nisar Lehri, a member of the Mastung Press Club’s governing body, was tragically killed in a shooting by unidentified assailants in the Kali Gilland area.
The Balochistan Police confirmed that Nisar Ahmad Lehri, who held an official position at the Mastung Press Club, was targeted in the attack. The local journalists’ community is now calling for the immediate arrest of those responsible for his murder.
In a related incident in 2023, at least 60 people lost their lives, and over 70 others were severely injured in a suicide blast during the main procession of Eid Milad-ul-Nabi in Mastung, Balochistan.
The explosion occurred near the Madina Mosque as people gathered to celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Among the deceased was Mastung’s Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), Nawaz Gashkori.
