In a significant diplomatic move, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the chief of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam Fazl (JUI-F), engaged in discussions with Taliban’s interim Prime Minister, Mullah Muhammad Hassan Akhund, during a meeting in Kabul.
The Afghan presidential palace (Arg) released a statement revealing that Mullah Hassan Akhund urged Pakistan to improve its treatment of Afghan refugees.
In response, Fazlur Rehman expressed his concerns, emphasizing that he has spoken out against Pakistan’s treatment of Afghan refugees.
The primary objective of Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s visit, as stated by him, is to “eliminate misunderstanding and provide cooperation in political, economic, and trade relations.
” This visit, occurring as part of the Afghan Taliban government’s efforts, aims to assure Pakistan that it does not support the banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
