Peshawar High Court’s senior puisne judge, Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim, took the oath as acting chief justice on Monday. The second-most senior judge, Justice Ijaz Anwar, administered the oath to him.
Peshawar High Court Chief Justice Mohammad Ibrahim Khan retired on Sunday following more than three decades of a judicial career.
Justice Ishtiyaq Ibrahim obtained his LLB degree from Khyber Law College, Peshawar, in 1992 and served as Assistant Advocate General from 1999 to 2000.
Ishtiyaq Ibrahim also held the position of Additional Advocate General for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) from 2008 to 2010. It’s noteworthy that the former Chief Justice of PHC, Muhammad Ibrahim Khan, retired on April 14.
