KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Karachi conducted an operation in the Site area, resulting in the arrest of a Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorist known as Hidayatullah.
According to a CTD spokesperson, Hidayatullah, also known as Maulana Abdul Hakim, was responsible for overseeing educational matters for TTP in Swat and Karachi. He was apprehended while collecting funds for the banned TTP organization.
The spokesperson mentioned that Hidayatullah’s father, Mohammad Ghaus, was killed in Afghanistan in 2000. His brother, Kifayatullah, was closely associated with TTP Swat leader Maulvi Fazlullah and has been missing since the Swat operation.
In a separate operation in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth area, the CTD also arrested two terrorists affiliated with the banned TTP Hafiz Gul Bahadur group.
CTD DIG Asif Ejaz Sheikh confirmed that the arrested individuals were linked to the proscribed Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan Hafiz Gul Bahadur group.
