Azam Khan then came in and changed the pace of the game. He attacked from the start and built a match-winning partnership with Warner. Warner scored a steady 50 off 36 balls, while Azam played a brilliant knock of 74 off just 34 deliveries, hitting boundaries all around the ground.
Even after Warner’s dismissal in the 16th over, Azam kept the pressure on the bowlers. He took the team close to victory before getting out in the second last over. Abbas Afridi sealed the win with a six, giving Karachi their third straight victory in PSL 11.
Earlier in the Karachi Kings vs Rawalpindi PSL 11 match, Rawalpindi posted a strong total of 197 for six after being put in to bat. Their innings had a shaky start, losing early wickets including captain Mohammad Rizwan.
Daryl Mitchell and Sam Billings then rebuilt the innings with a massive 120-run partnership. Both batters scored quick half-centuries, with Mitchell making 65 and Billings adding 58. Their effort gave Rawalpindi a solid total to defend.
For Karachi, Hasan Ali led the bowling attack with three wickets, while Khushdil Shah picked up two. Despite a good total, Rawalpindi bowlers could not stop the strong Karachi batting lineup.
