ISLAMABAD/PESHAWAR: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has formally kicked off investigations against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan over utilizing the official helicopter of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for personal use.
Taking notice of NAB’s spokesperson statement about PTI’s chief personal use of provincial government helicopter, Chairman of the anti-graft body Justice Retd Javed Iqbal ordered the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa accountability bureau to launch the investigations against Khan.
The NAB headquarters have also constituted an investigation team in this regards.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan has turned down the allegations of NAB saying he did not utilize Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s official helicopter for personal use.
Talking to media in Peshawar, Khan said that he welcomed the NAB’s initiative hoping that the anti-graft body would also look into abuse of official planes, helicopter etc by Zardaris and Sharifs.
Commenting on the Senate elections, he said that senate members belonging to PTI were being offered money for the election in the upper house.
He; however, warned that party members would storm the houses of PTI members who sold their votes.
Imran Khan criticized Nawaz Sharif for mounting verbal attacks on judiciary saying that the ousted prime minister was given several opportunities to present his stance.
He alleged that Nawaz Sharif was using Parliament against the judiciary and warned that they would hit the streets if the lower house was used against the judiciary.
