Khaqan Abbasi Calls for Uncontroversial Process and Collaboration among Leaders in upcoming Elections

Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi expressed concerns about the current election in Pakistan, deeming it as meaningless and likely to lead the country into chaos.

Speaking after appearing before the anti-corruption office in Rawalpindi on charges related to Ghora Gali and Murree Road projects, Abbasi criticized the use of NAB and anti-corruption agencies for political manipulation.

Abbasi, who is not contesting the election, emphasized the need for an uncontroversial election process and warned against potential harm if fake ballots or manipulations occurred.

He highlighted his differences with the PML-N party policy and announced plans to form a new party after the election.

Addressing the broader political landscape, Abbasi called for leaders from political, military, and judicial spheres to collaborate in determining the way forward for the country.

He also commented on the narrative of ‘respect the vote’ and expressed uncertainty about a deal regarding Nawaz Sharif’s return.

Regarding the May 9 incident, Abbasi labeled it as a tragedy and criticized the lack of action against those responsible for the attack on military installations.
