In a bold convergence of youth leadership and climate advocacy,KhudMukhtar SAWI in collaboration with the Diplomatic Youth Model United Nations (DYMUN) hosted a high-impact Flood Crisis Cell simulation and fundraiser at Mövenpick Centaurus, Islamabad on 8th September,2025.
The event brought together young delegates from leading colleges and universities from nationwide including Balochistan and KP, who engaged in urgent negotiations around climate-induced displacement, infrastructure collapse, and policy paralysis particularly in the context of recent water flow from India towards Pakistan.
Though consensus remained elusive, the dialogue sparked a wave of civic energy and strategic resolve.
Marriam Kaiwan, President of KhudMukhtar Sawi and Bint-e-Hawa Award recipient, addressed the delegates with a powerful call to action:
Floods don’t just drown homes—they expose the silence of systems. But Pakistan’s youth are not waiting for rescue. We are becoming the rescue.
The DYMUN Flood Crisis Cell served as a microcosm of global urgency, echoing UN warnings that climate disasters will displace over 200 million people by 2050. Delegates debated real-world scenarios, proposed anticipatory frameworks, and pledged solidarity with affected communities.
As Pakistan braces for future climate shocks, initiatives like DYMUN and KhudMukhtar Sawi are proving that youth are not just participants—they are protagonists in the fight for survival, equity and systemic change.
