ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khurram Dastagir has given the additional charge of the ministry of foreign affairs on Friday.
The foreign minister seat had been vacated after the disqualification of Khwaja Asif last month.
Khwaja Asif was disqualified by Islamabad High Court under article 62 (f)(1) of the constitution.
He will look after the foreign affairs ministry by the end of National Assembly’s term.
Khurram Dastagir appointed as defence minister in August 2017 when Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi formed a new cabinet after the ouster of Nawaz Sharif.
Dastgir has also served as the minister for commerce from 2014 to 2017.
