Security forces launched a Khuzdar Operation on the night of September 14 and 15, killing five terrorists linked to banned Baloch outfits. The military’s media wing confirmed the action in a statement issued on Wednesday.
According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Khuzdar Operation was carried out after credible intelligence was received about the presence of militants in the area. These elements, also known as Fitna-ul-Hindustan, were hiding in the region and planning fresh violence.
Troops surrounded the hideout and engaged the terrorists in a heavy exchange of fire. The gun battle ended with the killing of five militants. ISPR said that during the Khuzdar Operation, a large cache of arms and ammunition was seized. The weapons were intended for use in future assaults across the region.
The military’s statement further confirmed that the terrorists eliminated during the Khuzdar Operation had a history of involvement in several attacks in nearby areas. Their elimination marked a significant success against militant networks operating in Balochistan.
After the encounter, a clearance drive was launched to secure the surroundings. Security forces are still combing the terrain, as intelligence reports suggest more insurgents may be hiding close by. The Khuzdar Operation reflects the determination of Pakistan’s forces to dismantle militant hideouts and prevent terror strikes in the province.
