The provincial budget for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is expected to be presented after Eid-ul-Adha. According to Provincial Finance Advisor Muzammil Aslam, the total volume of the upcoming budget is estimated to reach Rs 1,950 billion.
Muzammil Aslam, who is the financial advisor to the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, said the budget for the fiscal year 2025–26 will likely be unveiled after Eid. He added that between Rs 165 billion to Rs 175 billion are expected to be allocated for the Annual Development Program (ADP). However, the development budget for the merged districts will be finalized only after consultations and indications from the federal government.
The finance advisor clarified that the upcoming budget will not include any new mega projects. Instead, priority will be given to the completion of ongoing schemes to maintain developmental continuity. He also revealed that a 2% tax on exports is under consideration, and consultations with stakeholders are currently underway on this proposal.
Meanwhile, the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce has finalized its recommendations for the upcoming budget, which will be presented to the provincial government. The business community has urged the government to focus on boosting exports and facilitating local industries.
Final decisions regarding the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa budget will be made in the post-Eid budget session after stakeholder consultations.
