PESHAWAR (Hassan Ali Shah) — Khyber TV has the honor of broadcasting a special program every year on August 4 to pay tribute to the martyrs and veterans of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police Force. Continuing this tradition, a dignified ceremony was held in Peshawar this year, honoring those who laid down their lives in the fight against terrorism and saluting the courage of the veterans.
The event was attended by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur, the Inspector General of Police, the Chief Secretary, DIG Operations Muhammad Ali Babakhel, the Peshawar Corps Commander, the Peshawar Commissioner, and other senior officials.
In his address, Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur praised the bravery of the KPK Police, stating that their sacrifices for the sovereignty of the country and against terrorism will be remembered forever. He announced the establishment of new check-posts in the southern districts, the provision of modern weapons and facilities to the police, and emphasized the need for a strong, modern police force to completely eliminate terrorism.
The Chief Minister also announced an increase in the Police Welfare Fund to one billion rupees and a grant of Rs. 50,000 each for the children of martyrs.
It is worth noting that the August 4, 2025 ceremony marked the 11th annual commemoration of the martyrs and veterans of the KPK Police Force. The memorable show was hosted by Jamshed Ali Khan and Meena Shams, and produced by Assistant General Manager Production, Fahmeed Khan.
