Kohat Terror Attack: DSP Among 6 Police Officials Martyred

KOHAT: At least six police officials, including a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), were martyred when terrorists attacked a police vehicle in Kohat on Tuesday, officials said.

The attack took place on Shakardara Road in the outskirts of Kohat, where armed assailants opened fire on a police mobile patrol.

According to the District Police Officer (DPO) Kohat, the attackers ambushed the vehicle, resulting in the martyrdom of the DSP and five other officials. Several personnel also sustained injuries in the firing.

Police officials confirmed that the terrorists set the police vehicle on fire after the assault and fled the scene. A heavy contingent of police was later deployed in the area, and a search operation was launched to track down the attackers.

Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister strongly condemned the incident and sought a detailed report from the Inspector General (IG) Police.
