Images and videos showing luxury vehicles, high-end real estate, and other lavish assets have surfaced, exposing the vast scale of corruption and collusion involved.

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has officially upgraded the status of the Kohistan scandal from an inquiry to a full-scale investigation. NAB Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s recent actions have uncovered shocking new details and layers of this multi-billion rupee fraud.

According to official records, NAB has so far recovered and seized assets worth a staggering Rs25 billion. The recovered items include over Rs1 billion in cash, foreign currency, and more than 3 kilograms of gold. Furthermore, 73 bank accounts across various commercial banks have been frozen, containing over Rs5 billion.

The total market value of these real estate holdings is estimated at Rs17 billion.

According to credible sources, arrests of key figures involved in the scam are expected within the next 24 to 48 hours, and preparations are already underway. The investigation has revealed that the fraud was meticulously orchestrated with the involvement of government officials, corrupt contractors, bank insiders, and other accomplices.

These culprits operated with remarkable boldness, siphoning billions of rupees from the national exchequer without raising alarms in any financial monitoring institution. The scandal has exposed serious loopholes in the oversight mechanisms of public finances.

One of the central figures in the scandal, contractor Muhammad Ayub, has already been arrested by NAB. Investigations revealed that Rs3 billion were transferred to his bank account. Moreover, it has been confirmed that Ayub used a portion of the stolen funds to purchase a property allegedly belonging to former senator Azam Swati.
