PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly here on Tuesday unanimously adopted a condemnation resolution against Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain for his controversial speech.
The KP assembly begin its proceedings chaired by Speaker Asad Qaisar. PTI MPA Shaukat Yousufzai tabled the resolution condemning the MQM chief Altaf Hussain’s recent speech in which he asked foreign forces to come and control Karachi situation.
The resolution demanded of the federal government to arrest Altaf Hussain through interpol and try him under treason trail. It stated that asking foreign forces to help someone against Pakistan army is treason.
Meanwhile the Assembly stressed the need for proper planning and evolve a comprehensive strategy to prevent destruction caused by flood.
Speaking on one point agenda about flood devastations in the country particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Leader of the Opposition Maulana Lutfur Rehman, parliamentary leaders of different political parties and other members said that the government should immediately launch a survey to determine losses caused by torrential rains and floods.
They also proposed that federal and provincial governments should also announce relief in collection of taxes and other revenues from the affected areas.
The members demanded of the provincial government to announce a comprehensive package for reconstruction of damaged infrastructure and restoration of routine life roads in the flood hit areas across the province.
The house also expressed sympathies with the people affected by flood in Chitral and other areas of the province and in the entire country.
