Peshawar: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has said that he is willing to engage with the establishment on provincial matters and improve working relations, clarifying that PTI founder Imran Khan has not assigned him any role regarding talks with the establishment.
Speaking during informal, one-on-one meetings with senior journalists in Peshawar, the chief minister stated that dialogue aimed at resolving provincial issues is necessary and constructive. He added that if any official ceremony or meeting takes place, he would certainly meet Field Marshal Asim Munir.
Muhammad Sohail Afridi emphasized that he has not been tasked by the PTI founder to hold negotiations with the establishment. According to him, the responsibility for such dialogue has instead been assigned to Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Nasir Abbas.
The chief minister reiterated that while political decisions remain the domain of party leadership, maintaining communication with state institutions on governance and administrative matters is essential for stability and effective governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
