KP Excise to Launch Specialized Tribal & Regional Number Plates

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Excise Department has announced the launch of exclusive, specialized vehicle number plates featuring tribal and regional names.

According to the department, the auction for these unique number plates will be held on January 27 in Peshawar. The plates will carry names of various tribes and well-known families, including Wazir, Mehsud, Khattak, Mahsud, Khan, Gandapur, Durrani, Kundi, Swati, Arbab, Khalil, Afridi, and Yousafzai.

In addition, number plates featuring names of districts such as Malakand, Abbottabad, Kohat, and Bannu will also be available. The starting bid for these plates has been set at PKR 10 lakh, with interested participants required to deposit PKR 1 lakh as security.

The Excise Department emphasized that failure to pay the full amount within the stipulated time will result in forfeiture of the security deposit.

This initiative marks a first-of-its-kind effort in the province to combine cultural identity with vehicle registration, attracting enthusiasts and collectors alike.
