Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government Could Fall with One-Seat Majority, Says Governor Kundi
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has said that the provincial administration could collapse if the opposition secures even a one-seat majority in the assembly. He clarified that, for now, the opposition has no immediate plans to unseat the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government.
Speaking to reporters during the 282nd Urs celebrations of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in Bhit Shah on Saturday, Governor Kundi stressed that the opposition can file a no-confidence motion against the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government whenever it chooses.
The governor, accompanied by Sindh Culture Minister Zulfiqar Shah, visited the shrine and laid a floral wreath. Later, while addressing the media, he said he would support anyone working to restore peace in the province.
Taking aim at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Kundi questioned: “Did those who desecrated the martyrs’ monuments on May 9 come from India and Israel?” He urged PTI leaders to seek legal relief through the courts, stating there would be no political deals or NROs for them.
The governor insisted that those responsible for the May 9 incidents must be punished. “Anyone who has committed wrong will face the consequences,” he asserted.
He also reminded that PTI leaders had previously been ousted from the federal administration. Now, he warned, if the opposition gains even a one-member edge in the House, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government will be removed.
