The deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) is no longer a secret. Shockingly, the province’s top official, who proudly calls himself a “people’s leader,” continues to blame the federal government while evading responsibility for the chaos. But for how long will the people tolerate hollow narratives and false claims?
Maintaining law and order in KP is a constitutional and legal duty of the provincial government. Every year, billions are allocated to the police, CTD, and other security agencies. Yet the reality on the ground tells a different story. Terrorists roam freely, and illegal elements crossing from Afghan soil enjoy complete impunity. If the Gandapur-led government lacks the capability to act against these criminal networks, then what is the purpose of this administration?
Recently, a staggering corruption case involving Rs. 40 billion came to light, a mere glimpse of PTI’s financial malpractice. Who is responsible for this? Which political mastermind has mortgaged the province to terrorists and corrupt mafias? People demand answers as their tax money continues to be funneled into the hands of terrorists, Afghan proxies, and political opportunists.
Each time their performance is questioned, they resort to selling “narratives” instead of delivering results. But no false claim, staged drama, or worn-out rhetoric can hide their failures and crimes anymore.
This is a wake-up call. A frontline province is rapidly becoming a hub of mismanagement, corruption, and terrorist patronage. If silence persists, this fire will not remain confined to KP.
