KP Govt Announces Petrol Subsidy for Motorcyclists

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced a petrol subsidy for motorcyclists to provide relief from rising fuel prices.

According to officials, the subsidy will be given to motorcycle owners registered in the province. The initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on citizens affected by the recent increase in petrol prices.

Adviser to the Chief Minister on Finance Muzammil Aslam said the provincial government will spend around Rs3.5 billion on the subsidy program.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi stated that eligible motorcyclists will receive Rs2,200 in total, which will be paid in two installments of Rs1,100 each.

He added that the government has also decided not to increase the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) fare, ensuring additional relief for commuters.

Meanwhile, Provincial Information Minister Shafi Jan said the subsidy amount will be transferred using the CNIC system. Beneficiaries will be able to receive the money through any digital wallet.

The provincial government says the move is intended to protect the public from the impact of rising fuel prices and provide targeted support to daily commuters who rely on motorcycles for transportation.
