Peshawar: In a major development, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has taken an important decision affecting employees recruited during the caretaker government’s tenure.
According to sources, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Higher Education Department has decided to terminate employees appointed during the caretaker setup. In this regard, formal letters have been issued to vice chancellors of public sector universities, directors, and other concerned authorities.
As per the letter, public universities and degree-awarding institutions have been directed to ensure strict implementation of the law. The matter has already been discussed by a ministerial committee, while legal opinions have also been obtained from the Establishment and Law Departments.
Universities and relevant institutions have been instructed to submit detailed reports within 10 days regarding appointments made during the caretaker period.
