PESHAWAR: Chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Imran Khan has said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is utilizing all available resources to provide clean and healthy environment to people of the province.
He was talking to media persons after reviewing Billion Tree Plantation Campaign in Peshawar this evening.
Imran Khan said under the campaign one billion saplings would be planted in the province by the end of 2017.
He said the government is also planning to plant ten mega forests in the province like Changa Manga.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should tell how much has he contributed in the building of ‘new Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’.
Imran Khan said this project is vital for Pakistan’s future, adding that such an attempt has never been made in the past. He said the government will complete the project of planting as many as one billion trees in five years.
Imran Khan said plantation of these trees will make jungles 10 times larger than Changa Manga and that the target will be achieved by the year 2017.
He said the primary difference between the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is that the former is building projects while the latter is ‘building institutions’.
“The PML-N is investing on iron rods and cement while we’re investing on people”, he said.
The PTI chief said it appears that National Assembly (NA) Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s wicket is about to fall for the third time. He said people’s rights are stolen if transparent elections are not held.
It merits mentioning here that PM Nawaz had stated on Tuesday that it was the federal government of Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) that was making a Naya Pakistan (New Pakistan) in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa (KP).
