KP govt to resolve problems of women teachers: Education Adviser


KOHAT: Adviser on Education Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ziaullah Khan Bangash said Tuesday the government would take concrete measures for resolving problems being faced by female teachers.
Talking in a meeting with a delegation of women teachers who have been recruited through NTS in Regional Institute of Teachers Education (RITE), the provincial advisor on education said a comprehensive policy would be evolved to resolve problems of female teachers on priority basis mainly pertaining to their posting at remote areas, transportation, polio and examination duties.
He said that PTI government was pursuing merit policy and it recruited thousands of teachers and posted them through merit-based policy during previous tenure, adding number of female educational institutions had been enhanced in line with vision with the prime minister.
The provincial education minister added all basic facilities would be provided to educational institutions, adding the government would pay attention to resolving problems of female teachers.
Since women constituted about 52 percent of the country’s population, he urged the teachers to give special attention to imparting education to girls, enabling them contribute towards the socio-economic development process, he added.
He said that the government would also provide opportunities to women to play role in various departments of life.
