Kuwait’s Emir, Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, has passed away at the age of 86.
Last month, he was hospitalized due to an emergency health issue, as reported by the state news agency KUNA.
In September 2020, Sheikh Nawaf took the oath of office after the death of his half-brother, Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, who passed away at the age of 91 in the United States.
A statement from the royal court, broadcasted on state television, expressed deep sorrow at the loss, saying, “With great sadness and sorrow, we mourn the death of Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.”
