KOHAT: A lady doctor was shot dead by unidentified armed men in Kohat’s KDA Double Road area on Sunday, police said.
According to police officials, the doctor was returning home in a rickshaw after completing her duty when gunmen opened fire on her vehicle. As a result, she died on the spot.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident and are searching for the suspects.
Following the killing, doctors staged a protest and demanded the immediate arrest of those involved. They strongly condemned the attack and termed it an act of violence against the medical community.
The President of the Young Doctors Association said that protests will continue until the suspects are arrested. He warned that doctors may expand their strike if authorities fail to take swift action.
Medical staff expressed deep concern over rising attacks on healthcare professionals. They urged the government to ensure security for doctors and hospital workers.
Authorities have assured that efforts are underway to trace and arrest the attackers.
