LAHORE: In a proactive move to reclaim public spaces, Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider, also the Administrator of Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL), has granted a 24-hour extension to the encroachment mafia’s ultimatum.
Aligned with the directives of the Punjab Caretaker Chief Minister, a decisive operation against encroachers is now slated to kick off on Wednesday, marking a significant step in restoring the city’s urban landscape.
Scheduled for the morning of December 20, the city-wide anti-encroachment operation will be under the vigilant supervision of DC Rafia Haider, acting in accordance with the Chief Minister’s guidance.
This collaborative effort involves various entities, including the district administration, police, parking authorities, and the Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC), pooling resources for an effective crackdown.
In a public appeal for voluntary encroachment removal, the DC emphasizes the collective responsibility of the community in ensuring the success of this revitalization initiative.
Reinforcing a zero-tolerance policy against encroachments, she issues a stern warning that criminal proceedings under the Encroachment Act.
