LAHORE: The Lahore Bar Association staged a protest outside the Lahore High Court (LHC) against the terrorism charges levied against lawyers. Tensions escalated as police resorted to using tear gas and batons against the protesters.
The rally organized by the Lahore Bar Association proceeded to the LHC premises with an attempt to enter the building, resulting in the arrest of numerous protesting lawyers by the police. Subsequently, a sizable police presence was deployed, sealing off the main gate of the Lahore High Court and setting up barricades.
Confrontations between the police and lawyers erupted outside the Lahore High Court, leading to the deployment of tear gas and baton charges by the police.
