Leaders never afraid of arrest, Maryam tells Imran

SHEIKHUPURA: Senior Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Maryam Nawaz, said that thieves and robbers are afraid of being arrested, but leaders are not afraid of jails.
She was addressing a PML-N organizational convention in Sheikhupura, where Rana Sanaullah, Pervaiz Rashid, Talal Chaudhry, Azma Bukhari, and others PML-N leaders were also present.
She said that a leader is not someone who hides in difficult times, and compared Nawaz Sharif’s situation to that of Imran Khan, saying that Nawaz Sharif did not hide behind his workers, while a leader who hides under a bed is called Imran Khan.
She further said that Nawaz Sharif did not leave his workers to be beaten, and came to Pakistan to face his arrest. She said that those who have not committed a theft also go through a search, and they held accountable for their daughter and party.
Maryam Nawaz said that thieves and robbers are afraid of being arrested, but leaders are not afraid of being arrested. She also criticized Imran Khan for using plaster cast as an excuse to avoid court appearances, while participating in rallies and public gatherings.
She asked, “Didn’t he face the risk of his life when he held a rally in Lahore yesterday evening?” She said that Imran Khan says he cannot go to court because of a broken leg, but he is participating in rallies and public gatherings.

Meanwhile, Interior minister Rana Sanaullah has said that Imran Khan would be arrested today and would be presented before the court.
