RAWALPINDI: The Lahore High Court Rawalpindi Bench has rejected a police report regarding the detention of Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed.
A hearing took place at the Lahore High Court’s Rawalpindi Bench in response to a petition challenging Sheikh Rasheed’s detention.
The Rawalpindi police had submitted a report to the court detailing the circumstances of Sheikh Rasheed’s arrest. According to this report, Sheikh Rasheed was apprehended in Phase 3, an area outside the jurisdiction of Rawalpindi police.
During the hearing, Justice Sadaqat Ali, presiding over the LHC Rawalpindi Bench, summoned the Regional Police Officer (RPO) of Rawalpindi to appear before the court on September 26 and expressed dissatisfaction with the provided police report.
