LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Wednesday dismissed a contempt petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Salman Akram Raja against the Returning Officer (RO) of NA-128.
Salman Akram Raja’s petition alleging contempt against the Returning Officer for NA-128 was deemed inadmissible.
In its written decision, the Lahore High Court outlined three key points regarding the case, which was presided over by Justice Ali Baqir Najafi.
The petition argued that the Returning Officer had promised to issue a notice to the candidate prior to the preparation of Form-48, but no such notice was provided.
In his plea, Salman Akram Raja urged the court to initiate contempt of court proceedings against the returning officer, emphasizing that the officer should face legal consequences as per the law.
