The Lahore High Court has taken a significant step by ordering the suspension of the election result announcement for NA-128.
This move came in response to an appeal filed by Salman Akram Raja, an independent candidate backed by the PTI, who contested the alleged irregularities in the NA-128 outcome in Lahore.
The court, led by Justice Ali Baqir Najfi, issued notices to both parties, including the Election Commission, and set a hearing date for February 12 to address the concerns raised by Salman Akram Raja.
The dispute arose as Raja faced defeat to IPP candidate Awn Chaudhry in the crucial NA-128 constituency, where Chaudhry secured 172,576 votes compared to Raja’s 159,024 votes.
