Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar Meets CDF Asim Munir to Strengthen Pakistan-Libya Defence Ties

Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Arab Armed Forces, met Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

A smartly turned-out tri-services contingent presented a Guard of Honour to the visiting dignitary upon his arrival at GHQ, underlining the importance of the high-level military engagement.

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, regional security developments and ways to strengthen defence cooperation between Pakistan and Libya.

The discussions focused on expanding collaboration in professional military training, security cooperation and institutional engagement between the armed forces of the two countries.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir reaffirmed the Pakistan Army’s commitment to promoting peace, stability and constructive engagement with friendly nations. He stressed the importance of continued cooperation to enhance mutual understanding and further strengthen bilateral defence relations.

Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar praised the professionalism and capabilities of the Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their contributions to regional peace and security.

The meeting was part of ongoing diplomatic and defence engagements aimed at enhancing cooperation between Pakistan and partner countries in areas of shared interest.
