In a resolute and historic move, the tribal elders of Maskini Dara in Lower Dir, a region bordering Afghanistan, have pledged to take up arms against terrorists and their facilitators. Determined to protect their homeland, the elders announced that no terrorist will be allowed to operate in their territory.
The grand tribal jirga declared that if terrorists attempt any act of sabotage, their properties will be seized, and their families along with their supporters will be expelled from the area. They also decided to organize nightly patrols to prevent the movement of militants.
This decision comes a day after security sources revealed that extremist militants are hiding among civilian populations in Bajaur, engaging in terrorist and criminal activities. The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, including the Chief Minister and security officials, had earlier presented three key demands to local tribes: expel the militants, allow security forces temporary access to clear the area, or minimize civilian risk during ongoing operations.
Security officials reaffirmed that there will be no negotiations with these militants or their facilitators unless they fully surrender to the state. The tribal elders’ bold stance has been hailed as a wise and patriotic act, reflecting their deep commitment to peace, security, and the sovereignty of Pakistan.
