LAHORE: The Pakistan Cricket Board is set to make significant changes to the national Test team ahead of their upcoming series against Bangladesh.
Consultations on the squad are scheduled for next week as preparations for the series intensify. Key adjustments are expected, with Muhammad Huraira likely to be added to strengthen the team. However, spots for notable players such as Faheem Ashraf, Wasim Jr, Saim Ayub, and Nauman Ali are uncertain, given their crucial roles in the team.
There are also indications that either Imamul Haq or Sahibzada Farhan may be included in the squad, pending further assessment. The futures of Amir Jamal and Hasan Ali will be determined based on their fitness evaluations.
The final selection of the Test squad will take place after Red Ball head coach Jason Gillespie returns to Pakistan, whose insights will be instrumental in finalizing the team for the series against Bangladesh.
In other news, New Zealand has officially announced its cricket calendar for the coming year. Pakistan is scheduled to tour New Zealand in March and April 2025. The tour will feature five T20 Internationals (T20Is) and three One Day Internationals (ODIs), starting with the T20I series on March 16 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.
