ISLAMABAD: Providing much-needed relief to the public amid inflation concerns, the petrol price in Pakistan has seen a substantial reduction of Rs14 per litre, now priced at Rs267.34 for the upcoming two weeks. Additionally, the diesel price has also experienced a significant decrease of Rs13.50 per litre, bringing it to Rs276.21.
These revised fuel prices will remain in effect until the subsequent bi-weekly review across all major cities in Pakistan, including Lahore, Islamabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Multan, and Karachi.
Prior to this adjustment, the petrol price in Pakistan stood at Rs281.34 per litre. In the last bi-weekly review on December 1, the government had maintained the petrol price at Rs281.34 per litre.
Alongside the petrol reduction, there has been a Rs7 per litre decrease in the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) and a Rs3.82 per litre reduction in the price of kerosene oil.
