ISLAMABAD: Senior leader of the PTI Maleeka Buhhar has condemned the May 9 violent protests and parted ways with the Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) on Thursday.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, the former member of the National Assembly Maleeka Bukhari announced resignations from all party offices and parting ways with the PTI. To a question, she said that she was quitting the party due to May 9 incidents, adding that all the culprits of attacks on May 9 incidents should be punished according to the law. She said that there was no pressure on her for quitting the party.
She demanded investigation into the May 9 incident and said that innocent people should not be punished. She said that she would continue to play her role as a lawyer. Maleeka Bukhari was released from Adiala Jail today.
