PESHAWAR: The prime suspect in the murder of nine family members in Budh Ber, Peshawar, on June 25, has been arrested.
Police identified the suspect as Yar Muhammad, who was apprehended in Sindh. The victims included four children and four women. Initially, Muhammad claimed that the motive behind the murders was a financial dispute. Police have also recovered the weapon used in the crime and arrested six other accomplices of the main suspect.
Earlier, unknown assailants opened fire inside a house, allegedly over a property dispute, killing nine family members. The attack left eight people dead on the spot and one injured, who later succumbed to their wounds during treatment.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Sahibzada Sajjad stated that teams have been formed under the supervision of Superintendent of Police (SP) Circle to arrest the suspects. He added that the deceased include women and children, and that the investigation will progress following the registration of the case. This tragic incident of mass murder in Peshawar appears to be due to a property dispute. The police are actively investigating the case and have formed teams to apprehend the suspects.
