Karachi: the lifeless body of Muhammad Sohail, a 52-year-old resident of Rahim Yar Khan, was discovered at a Shahra-e-Faisal hotel.
Scheduled to depart for Malaysia the next day, Sohail’s body, accompanied by a Dubai card, raised questions.
Initial police examination found no signs of torture, prompting curiosity about the cause of death pending the postmortem report.
Sohail, grappling with respiratory and heart ailments as per family accounts, was found only after the police, assisted by his nephew, forcibly entered the hotel room in response to unanswered calls.
Simultaneously, another grim discovery unfolded in Mehran Town, Korangi district, where a woman’s lifeless body was found in a house last December.
Jinnah Hospital took custody of the body for post-mortem as the parents accused the deceased’s mother-in-law of both torture and murder.
