Maryam Nawaz Announces Electro Buses and City Upgrades for Raiwind Ijtema

Maryam Nawaz Announces Electro Buses and City Upgrades for Raiwind Ijtema as the Punjab Chief Minister continues to lead public service initiatives across the province. In a major move to facilitate thousands of visitors attending the annual Raiwind congregation, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the launch of special electro bus services for three days, connecting Raiwind with key points such as Lahore Railway Station and Allama Iqbal International Airport.

During a meeting with senior members of the Tablighi Jamaat’s central council, including Dr. Nadeem Ashraf, Maulana Amjad Farooq, Maulana Muhammad Ameer, Imtiaz Ahmed Ghani, and Arshad, the Chief Minister assured that all possible facilities and arrangements would be made to ensure smooth management of the Raiwind Ijtema. She also ordered immediate patchwork on all routes leading to Raiwind and directed senior administrative officers — including the Deputy Commissioner, CCPO, DIG, and CTO — to personally oversee on-ground preparations.

The Tablighi Jamaat delegation expressed appreciation for Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s dedication to public welfare, acknowledging her rapid urban development initiatives such as the electro bus project and the construction of 90,000 homes within months. They also praised her for improving sanitation systems in both urban and rural areas.

Maryam Nawaz Sharif instructed immediate repair and renovation of three key roads in Raiwind, along with a special cleanliness campaign from November 1 until the conclusion of the Ijtema. She further directed the administration to ensure continuous sanitation, spraying of rose water, and beautification across Raiwind during the congregation period.

The Tablighi elders noted that such services, including modern transport projects like the Green Bus and the introduction of electro buses, have significantly transformed public perception. “Previously, no one imagined such services in smaller cities, but today Pakistan’s image is changing,” they remarked, commending Maryam Nawaz Sharif for her efforts.

They highlighted that over 110 countries participate in the Raiwind Ijtema, and international delegates have praised the provincial government’s arrangements and hospitality. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, in response, said she serves the people with sincerity and dedication, adding, “I act with the spirit of serving God’s creation as an act of devotion to the Creator. May Allah grant me the strength to continue serving the people.”

The Chief Minister also paid tribute to the Tablighi Jamaat’s religious contributions and requested special prayers for Pakistan’s peace, prosperity, and the rehabilitation of flood victims. Despite political criticism, she reaffirmed her commitment to the welfare of the people, saying that true service comes from sincere intention and faith that Allah will provide the means for public good.
