Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz continued her active role in flood relief efforts for the fourth day in a row. Her presence among displaced families once again highlighted the government’s commitment to supporting vulnerable citizens during this natural calamity.
On Sunday, CM Maryam reached the flood relief camp established at DPS in Kasur. There she comforted distressed women, met patients, and carefully inspected the quality of food being served to the victims. She also visited the temporary hospital where she met with the sick and embraced children with warmth and affection.
Later, during her visit to the flood relief camp in Sheikhupura Nau, the Chief Minister personally carried affected children to encourage them. She offered words of strength to women who had lost their homes and livelihoods, underscoring her deep concern for the people’s suffering.
Maryam Nawaz did not limit her engagement to citizens alone. She reviewed arrangements made by police, civil defence, and rescue services at the flood relief camps. She praised the efforts of the Punjab Rescue teams, police, PDMA, and other departments that had been working day and night to provide relief.
The Chief Minister also expressed her special gratitude to Pakistan Army personnel for their vital role in rescue operations, saying their contribution was invaluable in protecting lives.
On her way back, Maryam Nawaz stopped at a small fruit vendor’s stall near Talwar Post in Sheikhupura Nau. In a simple yet powerful gesture, she embraced a woman standing there and bought guavas from the vendor, reflecting her closeness with ordinary citizens even in testing times.
The four consecutive days of CM Maryam Nawaz’s flood relief activities show her personal dedication to easing the pain of victims. Her consistent presence in the field is a reminder that leadership during disasters must go beyond announcements and be visible in action.
