The announcement came from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, as reported by The News. Spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei confirmed the schedule during a Monday press briefing, stating that the Masoud Pezeshkian Pakistan visit holds deep diplomatic importance for both countries.
Baqaei described the upcoming trip as a sign of the value Tehran places on ties with Islamabad. He emphasized that Iran and Pakistan share long-standing historical, cultural, and religious connections, along with mutual respect. Relations have strengthened further in recent weeks amid rising tensions in the region.
The spokesperson noted that contacts between the two nations have increased after Israeli and US attacks on Iran. He recalled that Israel had launched strikes on Iran beginning June 13, targeting military, nuclear, and civilian sites for 12 straight days. On June 22, the United States conducted airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities in Natanz, Fordow, and Isfahan.
In retaliation, Iran launched large-scale counteroffensives. The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force carried out 22 waves of missile attacks under Operation True Promise III, damaging multiple Israeli positions in occupied territories. Iran also targeted the US al-Udeid air base in Qatar, the largest American installation in West Asia. The conflict ended with a ceasefire on June 24.
Meanwhile, Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni spoke by phone with Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi. He offered condolences over the loss of life and property from recent floods. “We stand with the government and people of Pakistan in this difficult time,” Momeni said, pledging support for flood-affected communities.
During the call, the two ministers also discussed preparations for the Masoud Pezeshkian Pakistan visit. Momeni expressed gratitude to Naqvi for his recent trip to Iran. Naqvi, in turn, said Islamabad eagerly awaits President Pezeshkian’s arrival.
The Masoud Pezeshkian Pakistan visit is seen as a key moment in strengthening bilateral relations between Tehran and Islamabad.
